Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) met students in Germany as part of the “Turkish Universities Education Fair” organized in collaboration with the Essen Education Attache Office and ZfTl. During the programs held between May 8-10, 2026, comprehensive information was provided regarding BEUN’s academic opportunities, internationalization vision, and university preference processes.
The opening program was held at Foundation for Türkiye and Harmonization Studies (ZfTl) in Essen. It was attended by Consul General of Essen Taylan Özgür Aydın, Essen Education Attache Sabri Yolcu, Head of ZfTl Prof. Dr. Hacı Halil Uslucan, ZfTl Intercultural Communication and Workforce Integration Program Manager Cem Şentürk, member of BEUN Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özarslan, university representatives, teachers in Germany, and representatives of nongovernmental organizations.
The event began with opening speeches. Consul General of Essen Taylan Özgür Aydın highlighted that Turkish Universities Education Fair is significant in terms of higher education preference process and stated his satisfaction with the strong academic and cultural collaborations between Türkiye and Germany. Aydın noted that such organizations contribute to the development of relations in the field of education between the two countries.
Following Aydın’s remarks, Sabri Yolcu, Education Attaché of Essen, emphasized the importance of helping Turkish youth living abroad become more familiar with higher education opportunities in Türkiye, stating that the program served as a valuable guide for students. He also noted that the academic opportunities offered by universities in Türkiye at the international level have been attracting increasing interest day by day.
In his speech, Haci Halil Uslucan, President of ZfTI, stated that educational and cultural collaborations strengthen the ties between societies and added that the Turkish Universities Education Fair make significant contributions to young people’s future planning. He also thanked the institutions and representatives who contributed to the organization of the program.
The program continued with remarks from university representatives. Ahmet Özarslan, faculty member of the Engineering Faculty at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, provided information about the academic, social, and scientific opportunities offered by the university to international students. Prof. Dr. Özarslan also expressed his gratitude to BEUN Rector İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his support of the university’s internationalization vision. The program concluded with a group photo session.
Turkish Universities Education Fair was held at the Dortmund Turkish Education Center on May 9–10. During the event, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özarslan, along with lecturers Aykut Günaydın and Yağmur Atalay from the BEUN Corporate Communications Office provided prospective students with comprehensive information regarding the university and preference processes.
Within the scope of the program, students were informed about the faculties, academic programs, social life opportunities, international student admission procedures, and career opportunities at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, while detailed presentations were delivered regarding the TR-YÖS and Abitur processes. Throughout the event, students and their families had the opportunity to ask university representatives questions they were curious about.
It was stated that the promotional activities carried out by BEUN for international students attracted great interest and contributed to strengthening educational cooperation between Türkiye and Germany.
