
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) continued its academic success and upward trend both in Türkiye and worldwide in the “World University Rankings 2027” announced by Times Higher Education (THE), an international higher education ranking organization.
The results of the THE 2027 World University Rankings, which included 2,297 universities from 118 countries worldwide, were announced. BEUN once again succeeded in being among the world’s best universities in the global ranking, where the number of participating institutions increases every year and competition becomes more intense.
Ranked in the 1801–2000 Band Worldwide and Among Distinguished Universities in Türkiye
According to the announced data, BEUN demonstrated its academic visibility on an international scale by ranking in the 1801–2000 band in the THE 2027 list, where the number of universities included in the ranking increased from 2,191 to 2,297. Among the 124 universities in Türkiye included in the ranking, BEUN ranked 65th, securing its place among Türkiye’s distinguished higher education institutions.
Rising Percentile Rankings in Teaching, Research Quality and Industry
In the evaluations carried out by THE in the main performance areas of universities, the increases in BEUN’s percentile rankings across key criteria attracted attention. According to the announced data, BEUN improved its percentile rankings compared to the previous year in the categories of teaching, research environment, research quality and industry engagement. According to the 2027 data, BEUN increased its percentile ranking in teaching from 14.9% to 15.5%, while its ranking in the research environment category rose from 11% to 14.1%. Research quality, one of the areas in which BEUN recorded the most significant progress, increased from 26.5% to 35.4%, while its percentile ranking in the industry category, which reflects cooperation with industry and income-generating capacity, rose from 19.5% to 21.1%.
