
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, welcomed the Head of Innovation and Competitiveness Unit, Western Black Sea Development Agency (BAKKA), Dr. Hakkı Yavuz Toplu, who has donated 400 books to BEUN Prof. Dr. Durmuş Günay Library in his unit.
During the visit held at the Rector’s office, the Director of Library and Documentation, Osman Demir, was also present.
Thanking his guest for his kind visit and valuable donation, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the meaningful donation of books from the private collection of the late Abdullah Toplu to the university library qualifies as cultural heritage for the students and academics. Prof. Dr. Özölçer pointed out the significance of book donations and said, “It is a pleasure for us to have that valuable donation. Our library continues to strengthen the research and learning atmosphere with its enriched collection.”
Dr. Hakkı Yavuz Toplu stated, “I am glad that the book collection my father created meticulously throughout the years will reach scientists and students at the BEUN Library. The best way to keep the information exchange and cultural heritage alive is to introduce such books to the new generation,” he said during his visit.
