Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has achieved a great success across Türkiye with its outstanding performance in various fields according to the results of “General Report on University Monitoring and Evaluation -2025” published by Council of Higher Education (CoHE). BEUN has made a place for itself in the top 20 with the results in areas including innovation, student life, sustainability, and accessibility and became the 9th in Türkiye in Climate Action.
Multifaceted Success from Research to Student Life
According to the data in the report, BEUN became the 19th with a 6% acceptance rate in patent applications across Türkiye. This result demonstrated the capacity of research development and innovation through hard data. Holding 18th place with 162 active student clubs, BEUN proved its energy through its dynamic campus life and student participation.
Pioneering University in Sustainability: The 9th Place
Standing out with its initiatives in sustainability and environmental awareness, BEUN claimed the 9th place across Türkiye with a 300-score in the THE Impact Rankings-Climate Action category. This success clearly shows the impactful initiatives in line with the campus policies of environmental responsibility and sustainability, and fighting climate change.
Exemplary University in Accessibility
With its principles of equality in opportunities and inclusiveness, BEUN ranked the 13th across Türkiye with its 19 flags he achieved within the scope of Accessibility Flags. This result proves the awareness of the university to provide an accessible and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities.
Rector Özölçer: “We are Building a Strong University Model from Education to Environment”
In his remarks on the achievement, the Rector of BEUN, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following emphasizing the multifaceted development vision of the university:
“Our university ranks in the top of this comprehensive report published by CoHE. This is the result of initiatives we decisively carry out with correct strategies in fields from education and environmental awareness to research and accessibility. The success achieved in the fields of climate action, sustainability, accessibility and innovation is a clear sign of our responsibility towards nature, humanity, and the future. We carry BEUN forward each passing day through the devoted work of our academic and administrative staff, active participation of our students and institutional collaborations. Our goal is to make the sustainable and inclusive university vision that is highly competitive in the national and international scale, more visible. I extend my gratitude to the Family of CoHE, particulary the President of CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar for his support and guiding approaches.
