Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has participated in the Enhancing Knowledge of Biomolecular Solutions for the Well-being of European Aquaculture Sector – CA22160 (BIOAQUA) Project, focusing on the sustainability of the aquacultural resources, fish health, and environmental protection in Europe.
BEUN Food Application and Research Center Deputy Director Inst. Utku Duran contributed to a comic book named “Fish Superpowers” that aims to educate children on fish health, food safety, the One Health Approach, and the environment under the COST Action BIOAQUA working group.
BIOAQUA Project aims to produce materials and activities that encourage children to learn more about aquaculture, food safety, and environmental issues. The BEUN logo in the comic book contributes to the visibility of BEUN within the framework of international collaborations.
In a statement on the BIOAQUA Project, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, said:
“As BEUN, we care about contributing to the scientific activities not only on the national level but also internationally. The BIOAQUA Project is a significant network that promotes knowledge exchange on crucial fields such as food safety, environmental protection, and the future of the aquaculture sector. The BEUN logo in this Project contributes to the global recognition of our university in the scientific projects. This visibility enhances the research capacity and the collaboration potential. Our university will continue to support interdisciplinary studies and international collaborations. I hereby thank the researchers who have contributed to the project.”
