
An international collaboration protocol has been signed between Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) and the University of Science and Technologies (USAT) in order to strengthen academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation.
The signing ceremony took place in the Farabi Campus Rectorate Senate Hall. The protocol was signed by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer and Vice Rector of Uzbekistan Science and Technologies University, Prof. Dr. Morud Akhmedov. Vice Rector of BEUN, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, USAT Faculty of Distance Education, Prof. Dr. Naim Khojikulov, USAT Director of International Relations, Dr. Jokhangir Odilov, and BEUN Erasmus+ Coordinator, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dinçer Biçer were present at the ceremony.
The protocol includes the implementation of joint educational activities at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels, development of academic staff and student exchange programs, the implementation of mutual scientific research and projects, the reciprocal invitation of academic staff to deliver courses, the implementation of a co-advisory system for the doctoral level students, preparation of mutual curricula for the undergraduate and graduate levels, organizing scientific activities, seminars, symposia, and conferences. Within the framework of the protocol, the aim is to have academic collaborations based on sharing information and experience between the two universities, as well as to raise qualified academics on an international level.
Rector Özölçer said, “We care about the quality in education, productivity in science, and sustainability in research through international collaborations.”
BEUN Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that mutual studies done by the academic institutions in the international community are significant and added:
“We continue to pursue collaborations with the internationally recognized academic institutions with determination, while maintaining academic achievements on the national and international levels. Science is a universal language without borders. Thus, each academic connection strengthens the visibility and the lasting effect of information exchange. As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, the first university of the Republic, the innovative collaborations with the higher education institutions from different parts of the world enhance the vision of our students and academic staff while enriching their knowledge and experience. The protocol we have signed with the University of Science and Technologies is a clear sign of the significance we attach to quality in education, productivity in science, and sustainability in research. Thanks to this valuable protocol, both our academics and students will have a chance to be a part of international academic platforms, to know different cultures, and gain experience in new research areas. With this in mind, I hope this collaboration protocol will be beneficial for our university, the University of Science and Technologies, and both countries. Our university will continue to enhance scientific collaborations in line with the internationalization goal.
