Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Devrek Vocational School organized an activity program for children staying at Çaycuma Sevgi Evleri. Within the scope of the program, 10 children and 3 institutional representatives visited the vocational school and examined the practice areas.
The event started with paper marbling activity held at the crafts workshop. The children were taught the basic techniques of paper marbling and participants prepared their own works. Following the program, a practical workshop was held in the Cookery Program Practice Kitchen. Pizza making process was taught by Lecturer Erol Kesgin and Lecturer Sercan Kadam. Participants ate the pizzas they made at the end of the event. A short chocolate workshop was also held.
Rector Özölçer: “Universities should fulfill their mission of social contribution”
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized the significance of universities’ social responsibility activities in his remarks and added:
“Universities should fulfill their mission of social contribution as well as educational activities. The program hosted by Devrek Vocational School provided students with an opportunity to gain experience in new fields. I would like to thank the academic staff who contributed to the workshop. I would also like to thank Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services for their contribution in the service and support processes for the children.”
