The graduation ceremony organized for students of Devrek Vocational School, School of Applied Sciences, and Gökçebey Mithat-Mehmet Çanakcı Vocational School of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) in the Devrek and Gökçebey campuses was held with great enthusiasm and pride.

The ceremony, held at Devrek District Stadium, was attended by Devrek Mayor Özcan Ulupınar, Gökçebey Mayor Vedat Öztürk, BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Çaydeğirmeni Mayor Satılmış Gebeş, district dignitaries, senate members, academic and administrative staff, and the families of graduating students.

The program began with a procession of students, followed by a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem.

In his opening speech, BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu stated that graduation represents a new beginning for students, emphasizing his belief that they will contribute significantly to the country’s future with the knowledge, skills, and experience they have gained during their university years. He also highlighted BEUN’s strong academic tradition and quality education approach, noting that the university educates students not only professionally but also with a strong sense of social responsibility, and congratulated all graduates and their families.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Burak Esen, who graduated as the top student of the Private Security and Protection Program at Devrek Vocational School, expressed his pride in graduating from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, one of Türkiye’s established higher education institutions. He stated that the knowledge and experience he gained during his studies would guide him in his professional career and added that he aims to become a beneficial individual for his country with the academic perspective he acquired at BEUN. He concluded by thanking BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, all academic staff, his family, and friends, and wished success to his fellow graduates.

After the speeches, awards and diplomas were presented to high-achieving students by BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Devrek Mayor Özcan Ulupınar, Gökçebey Mayor Vedat Öztürk, Çaydeğirmeni Mayor Satılmış Gebeş, and other dignitaries.

Following the diploma ceremony, students took the graduation oath, experiencing the excitement of graduation once again. The ceremony continued with the traditional cap toss, where graduates joyfully celebrated their achievement, creating emotional and unforgettable moments.

The event concluded with a group photo taken with graduates, their families, and protocol members.
