The Department of Medical Biochemistry at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Faculty of Medicine has been accredited for four years following an evaluation conducted in the field of specialty training. As the only department in Türkiye accredited in the field of Medical Biochemistry specialty training, the department’s faculty members presented the accreditation certificate to BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ulusoy.
Following an on-site evaluation conducted by the Program Evaluation Commission of the Medical Biochemistry Board of Proficiency on April 9, 2026, it was confirmed that the Department of Medical Biochemistry met the national standards for specialty training. Accordingly, the department was accredited for four years.
Following the completion of the accreditation process, faculty members of the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Prof. Dr. Ayça Görkem Mungan, Prof. Dr. Murat Can, and Prof. Dr. Berrak Güven, visited BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ulusoy in his office. During the visit, the faculty members presented the Medical Biochemistry Institutional Specialty Training Qualification Certificate to Rector Ulusoy.

Commenting on the accreditation, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ulusoy stated that this achievement reflects the university’s commitment to quality and its academic competence in medical education. He made the following remarks:
“The accreditation of our Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Medical Biochemistry for four years, making it the only department in Türkiye accredited in the field of Medical Biochemistry specialty training, is a great source of pride for us. This achievement is an important step in training qualified specialist physicians and maintaining and continuously improving educational standards.
