Presidency's Directorate of Communications hosted the panel “From Roots to Horizons: The Rise Story of the Turkish Defense Industry”.  Assistant Coordinator Lecturer Ufuk Tok from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Coordinatorship of Corporate Communication, attended the panel.

President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of ASELSAN Ahmet Akyol, President of TUSAŞ Dr. Mehmet Demiroglu, President of ROKETSAN Murat İkinci, and President of STM Özgür Güleryüz took part in the panel organized by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications. Vice Director of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications Ferhat Pirinççi and President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün gave the opening speech.

The rise of the Turkish defense industry in recent years and the role of this development in the economic, diplomatic, and strategic position of Türkiye have been discussed in the panel. Vice Director of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications Ferhat Pirinççi stated that the point the defense industry has reached is not a coincidence but a product of vision and perseverance.

Pirinççi also pointed out that Türkiye has a leading role not just in its own region but in the world and takes an active part both in the field and at the table, and it is visible in the developments in the region.

In his opening speech, President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün stated that the defense industry is not just a technological advancement but a new step in the ongoing journey of historical revival.  He pointed out that the spirit of the Independence War and today’s advanced technology moves share a strong connection and noted that the statement “From Roots to Horizons” is an institutional reflection of historical and technological unity.

Görgün highlighted the fact that the defense industry is not just a military sector, but a keystone of diplomatic efficiency and strategic strength. President Görgün noted that it is the main goal of the defense industry to be a part of the domestic and national production capacity, strategic superiority, technology-driven deterrence, and global competition.
