BEUN's Success in Accreditation for Vocational Education Was Certified

At Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), accreditation certificates were presented by Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer to the administrators of programs accredited by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK).

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) continues its quality- and accreditation-oriented efforts in vocational education with determination. In this context, the accreditation of the Cookery Program at Devrek Vocational School and the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program at Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) was recorded as a significant achievement.

The administrators of the accredited programs met with Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer at the Rectorate Senate Hall. The meeting was attended by Secretary General and Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Director of Devrek Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan Kazkondu, Director of Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Karaelmas, Lecturer Erol Keskin from the Cookery Program of Devrek Vocational School, and Dr. Lecturer İrem Uzunsoy from the Food Processing Department of Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School.

During the meeting, accreditation certificates were presented by Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer to the administrators of the programs that were entitled to receive MEDEK accreditation. Evaluations were also made regarding accreditation processes, quality assurance practices, and the future of vocational education.

Rector Özölçer: “We Strengthen Vocational Education at BEUN with Our Quality-Oriented Approach”

In his remarks, Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized the significant importance of accreditation processes for universities and stated:

“Enhancing the quality of vocational education and training graduates who are competent, aligned with the needs of the era, and capable of meeting sectoral expectations are among our university’s primary priorities. In this regard, the quality and accreditation efforts we carry out are of great importance in ensuring the continuous development of our education and training processes. The accreditation of the Cookery Program at Devrek Vocational School and the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program at Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School is a concrete indicator of the qualified work we have put forward in these fields. MEDEK accreditation increases the national and international recognition of our graduates’ diplomas and makes significant contributions to their employment opportunities.

At the same time, these processes strengthen interaction with stakeholders and contribute to the institutionalization of a quality culture and sustainable development at our university. With these thoughts and feelings, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the esteemed YÖK family for their continuous support of our quality-oriented efforts; to the President of the Higher Education Quality Council, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, and all YÖKAK members for their encouragement and contributions; to MEDEK administrators who made great efforts during the accreditation process; to Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan Kazkondu, Director of Devrek Vocational School; to Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Karaelmas, Director of Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School; to all our academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process; and to our dear students, whose determination made them partners in this success.”

The meeting concluded with the exchange of good wishes, followed by a commemorative photo shoot.
