Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Faculty of Sport Sciences student and national athlete Berat Hıdır achieved a great success at the U23 Balkan Judo Championships, held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

A student at the Department of Coaching Education at the BEUN Faculty of Sport Sciences, Berat Hıdır, achieved a great success at the U23 Balkan Judo Championships, held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on October 18, 2025. Competing in the men’s +100 category, Hıdır outperformed his opponents and won the gold medal.

Following the first-place success of the Faculty of Sport Sciences student, Berat Hıdır, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, expressed his pride and happiness, saying:

“This significant achievement of the student of the Department of Coaching Education at the BEUN Faculty of Sport Sciences, Berat Hıdır, is the embodiment of success, perseverance, faith, and sports discipline. This achievement is a sign of not just an individual struggle, but the value our university attaches to sport and sportspeople. The success of our young students in Türkiye, Europe, and on various platforms makes us, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, the first university of the Republic, our city, and our country proud. Our university contributes to our students’ success in such international competitions with its well-established and experienced academic staff in every sports field, strong physical infrastructure, and qualified education programs.
