The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer paid a visit to Kamuran Aşkar, the Zonguldak Provincial Representative of Memur-Sen and the President of the Zonguldak Branch of Eğitim-Bir-Sen, in his office.
During the visit held at the Education-Bir-Sen Zonguldak Provincial Representation, comprehensive evaluations were made regarding the academic achievements of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in the field of higher education, its collaborations with public institutions and industrial organizations, and quality-oriented studies in higher education.
Expressing his satisfaction with the kind hospitality, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the university has achieved significant progress in recent years in the fields of academic success, internationalization, and research activities, and provided information about the projects being carried out.
Stating that BEUN is not limited only to scientific production and academic activities, Özölçer emphasized that the university has also implemented significant projects in social, cultural, scientific, and sporting fields through the collaborations it has established with public institutions, the private sector, and local stakeholders. Noting that practices supporting the multifaceted development of students are among the university’s primary priorities, Özölçer expressed that strategic steps aimed at international academic collaborations, as well as studies contributing to regional development, are being continued with determination. He also stated that strong communication and cooperation between higher education institutions and non-governmental organizations are of great importance for scientific and social development.

Expressing his satisfaction with the kind visit, Memur-Sen Zonguldak Provincial Representative and Eğitim-Bir-Sen Zonguldak Branch President Kamuran Aşkar thanked Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer and stated that they closely follow the academic studies carried out and the achievements obtained by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. Noting that the university constitutes an important value not only for Zonguldak but also for the Western Black Sea Region with its scientific production, research activities, and socially oriented projects, Aşkar emphasized that cooperation between higher education institutions and non-governmental organizations makes a significant contribution to social development and wished success and convenience to the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University family.
A Work Presenting BEUN’s Visionary Initiatives Was Presented
As part of the visit, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, presented a copy of the book titled "Bir Asırlık Birikim, Yeni Bir Vizyon: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi" (A Century of Experience, A New Vision: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University) to Kamuran Aşkar, the Provincial Representative of Memur-Sen and the President of the Zonguldak Branch of Eğitim-Bir-Sen. The book highlights the university’s academic achievements between 2022 and 2025, including its national and international collaborations, accomplishments and visionary projects contributing to social awareness.
The visit, during which mutual good wishes were conveyed, ended with the taking of a commemorative photograph.
