At Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Faculty of Engineering External Stakeholders/Advisory Board Meeting was held.

Rector Özölçer: “University-Public-Industry Collaboration is the Key to Regional Development”
In his opening speech of the meeting, the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that universities are more than institutions that produce knowledge, they contribute to and lead the region they belong by forming strong ties. Highlighting that the initiatives taken by the Faculty of Engineering along with the external stakeholders provide significant contributions to both higher education community, industry and the workforce, Rector Özölçer stated:
“Universities not only develop themselves through strong collaborations with the external stakeholders but also contribute to the society by providing regional development opportunities and raising qualified human resources. As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we carry out significant studies based on common mind and sustainable collaborations with our industrial institutions and sector representatives. Such collaborations provide opportunity for our students to have hands-on education, more employment opportunities, and have stronger ties with the local institutions. I hope this meeting we held today will lead to new projects to be carried out in 2025-2026 academic year, mutual studies and learning-based activities. I extend my thanks to our valuable stakeholders and wish this meeting to be beneficial to everyone.”
Prof. Dr. Karasu: “University-Industry Collaboration Is the Main Strength of Our Education”
Following Rector Özölçer’s opening speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu gave a detailed presentation on the activities of Faculty of Engineering in 2025, the projects carried out, accreditation studies, and services provided for the students.
Highlighting the advantages of university-industry collaboration for the quality of education, Prof. Dr. Karasu stated such collaborations develop the students’ abilities in their professional lives and increase the employment opportunities. Prof. Dr. Karasu extended his gratitude to particularly the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, all academic and administrative staff as well as the external stakeholders for their contribution.
Mutual Projects Carried Out with BEUN Were Evaluated
Following Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu’s presentation, Zonguldak Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Metin Vural, Manager of Başkent Electricity Distribution Company Inc. Buğra Han Çağıran, and Zonguldak Provincial Director of Disaster and Emergency Ali Kartal talked about collaborations with BEUN, mutual projects, internship opportunities, and accreditation process. Emphasizing that strong collaborations among the university, public and private sector representatives contribute to the economic and social development of Zonguldak as well as the academic improvement, speakers expressed their hopes that such collaborations will continue. Speakers also extended their thanks to particularly the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer and the stakeholders who contributed to the organization of the meeting.
