Faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aytaç Altan has achieved a notable success on the national and international level by making it to the list of Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) 2025, which is published by Clarivate to determine the most influential scientists in the world.

This year, 7131 researchers were evaluated across the world for the list published. Only two researchers from Türkiye made it to the list. One of these two distinguished names, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aytaç Altan delivered a success that brings pride to BEUN.

It requires meeting high standards such as scientific productivity, international visibility, innovative approach, multidisciplinary contributions, and global impact of research, as well as having a high number of citations to be on the HCR list. Making it to the top 0,1% among most influential scientists at the end of the meticulous evaluation process, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Altan has attained a distinguished status in the global science community.

Prof. Dr. Aytaç Altan's work on AI-based medical screening systems, advanced control theories, metaheuristic optimization algorithms, and mission-critical defense systems made a strong impact on the scientific community.
