In Zonguldak, the “Art Incentives and Living Through Art Program” has been launched with the aim of supporting the social participation of relatives of martyrs, veterans, and their families, as well as benefiting from the healing power of art. The first training within the program was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdal Kara, Director of the Gökçebey Mithat Mehmet Çanakcı Vocational School at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN).
Under the coordination of Ministry of Family and Social Services General Directorate of Relatives of Martyrs and Veterans, Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, and BEUN, a ceramic course started for 11 relatives of martyrs and veterans.
The first lesson of the course was held at the service building of Provincial Directorate and attended by Zonguldak Deputy Governor Fatih Baysal, the Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Mehmet Türkmen Köse, and directorate members. They extended their best wishes.
During the six-month-long course, the classes will be carried out by the Director of BEUN Gökçebey Mithat Mehmet Çanakcı Vocational School Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdal Kara and it is aimed to increase participants’ self esteem while they represent themselves through art.
Rector Özölçer: “We are Always There for the Relatives of the Martyrs and Veterans”
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following in his remarks:
“It is extremely significant to support relatives of the martyrs and veterans having active roles in the social life and providing them with the opportunity to express themselves. We are glad to be a part of this meaningful program which centers around the healing power of art. As BEUN, we will continue to support relatives of our esteemed martyrs and veterans as part of our social responsibility vision. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Ministry community. I would also like to thank Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and faculty members who carry out the program with great dedication.”
