Rector Özölçer: “We Increase the Professional Competence of Our Physicians Through Hands-on Scientific Training Programs”
In his opening speech, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer expressed the following:
“On the occasion of this qualified training program hosted by our university, we are very pleased to welcome our esteemed guests to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. Our university continues to add value to its region and country through scientific, academic, and practice-oriented studies carried out in the field of health with its Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, and all relevant units. In line with our understanding of providing our citizens with the most up-to-date, reliable, and modern health services, we strengthen our identity as the ‘Health Base of the Western Black Sea’ day by day through innovative practices implemented at our University Hospital.
This training program, whose opening we are holding today, is an important indicator of our university’s vision and scientific approach in the field of health. Through academic and scientific activities conducted within our university, we aim to continuously develop the professional knowledge, skills, and experience of our physicians. We believe that the training programs organized within this scope provide a significant gain for all participants who wish to improve themselves in their field. Medicine is an extremely important profession that requires not only knowledge accumulation but also experience, attention, and a high sense of responsibility. The words of Ibn Sharif, one of the most important figures of Ottoman medicine, stated centuries ago—‘A physician must first know the type and origin of the disease’—remind us that knowledge should not only be learned, but also applied in the right place, at the right time, and in the right way.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all our academicians, course instructors, and healthcare professionals who contributed to the realization of this qualified training program. I wish success to our valuable trainees who added value to this process with their knowledge, experience, and desire to learn, and I hope that the program will create an efficient training environment that contributes to professional development, scientific production, and human health.”
Following his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented certificates of appreciation to the course instructors.
