A Next-Generation Construction Material Patent from Marmara University and BEUN

With the joint application of BEUN and Marmara University, the project titled “Production of a New Generation Binder Construction Material from Marble Waste and Blast Furnace Slag” has been granted a patent.

The Project titled “Production of a New Generation Binder Construction Material from Marble Waste and Blast Furnace Slag”, for which Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and Marmara University are the applicants, was invented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülden Çağın Ulubeyli, faculty member of Department of Civil Engineering at BEUN Faculty of Science and Prof. Dr. Recep Artır, faculty member of Marmara University Faculty of Engineering has been granted a patent.

BEUN Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the university has made a name for itself with its scientific researches and innovative projects as well as in the educational field. Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer emphasized that the collaborative project with Marmara University has been awarded with the patent clearly demonstrates both the power of inter-university collaborations and the level of BEUN research capacity. He highligted that such projects that focus on recycling waste and contribute to sustainable development is significant both for the environment and economy. He noted that the university will continue to support innovative ideas. He also stated this success will be a source of motivation for future joint projects.

Following the acceptance of amendments in line with the 769-P Examination Report by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, it was decided to grant a patent fort he Project titled “Production of a New Generation Binder Construction Material from Marble Waste and Blast Furnace Slag.”
