The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) paid a visit to Devrek Mayor Özcan Ulupınar, in his office.
During the visit to the Mayoralty, comprehensive evaluations were conducted on BEUN’s success among higher education institutions, collaborations with industry and public institutions, and quality-focused initiatives in higher education. Expressing his pleasure for the kind hospitality, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer informed Ulupınar on BEUN’s academic success in internationalization and research activities as well as the projects. Emphasizing that BEUN created significant projects in the social, cultural, scientific and sporting fields thanks to the collaborations with public institutions, private sector and local stakeholders, Özölçer stated that it is among University’s priorities to support students’ multifaceted development. Noting students’ projects adding value to the local development and strategic steps taken for the international academic collaborations, Özölçer stated that strong communication and collaboration among higher education institutions is significant for scientific improvement.

Devrek Mayor Özcan Ulupınar expressed his appreciation for the kind visit and stated that they follow BEUN’s academic studies and success with pleasure. Stating that with its scientific production, research activities, and social-contribution focused projects, the university is a significant value for the Western Black Sea Region, particularly Zonguldak, Ulupınar emphasized that collaborations with Devrek Municipality contribute to the region significantly. Highlighting that strong cooperation between the university and local management plays a significant role in the development of the cities, Ulupınar said he wished the continued growth of collaborative efforts.
The Work Highligting BEUN’s Activities and Achievements Was Presented
As part of the visit, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, presented a copy of the book titled "Bir Asırlık Birikim, Yeni Bir Vizyon: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi" (A Century of Experience, A New Vision: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University) to Özcan Ulupınar, Mayor of Devrek. The book highlights the university’s academic achievements between 2022 and 2025, including its national and international collaborations, accomplishments in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sporting fields, visionary projects contributing to social awareness, and significant progress made in institutional accreditation processes.
