The Mayor of Elvanpazarcık, Ümit Uzun padi a courtesy visit to the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer.
Strong Future with University-City- Industry Collaboration
During the visit held at the Rectorate, BEUN’s academic success as well as its role in the development of the region was emphasized. Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the university aims to contribute to the local development by bringing the production capacity of the university with the local administration.

In his remarks on the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized the integration of the university with the region and stated:
“As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we move towards the future with the strength we get from our deep-rooted history. We aim to move our academic success further through strong collaborations with the local administration. We carry out projects that will contribute to the social, cultural, and economic development of our region all together. Our esteemed Mayor’s visit and their interest in our university is extremely important. I would like to express me thanks and wish him success and ease in his endeavors.”

Elvanpazarcık Mayor Ümit Uzun highlighted the significance of BEUN for the region and stated:
“Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, the gem of the city, is a higher education institution that adds value to the whole region with its strong academic-administrative staff and visionary approach. Initiatives taken and projects carried out by the university are significant to local development. We appreciate said initiatives led by the esteemed Rector. I would like to extend my thanks to Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who led these remarkable achievements. I congratulate all Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University community and wish them continuous success.”
The Work Reflecting BEUN’s Vision Was Presented
As part of the visit, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, presented a copy of the book titled "Bir Asırlık Birikim, Yeni Bir Vizyon: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi" (A Century of Experience, A New Vision: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University) to Elvanpazarcık Mayor Ümit Uzun. The book highlights the university’s academic achievements between 2022 and 2025, including its national and international collaborations, accomplishments in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sporting fields, visionary projects contributing to social awareness, and significant progress made in institutional accreditation processes.
The visit concluded with mutual best wishes and a commemorative photo.
