As a part of the “Life in Campus Veins” Campaign organized at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the members of the Physician and Leadership Student Club presented a symbolic turquoise ribbon to the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, to express opposition to the genocide in Gaza.
Turquoise ribbon was presented as a symbol of support to the Global Sumud Fleet and the solidarity of the people of Gaza. This meaningful act is a sign of social responsibility awareness and humanistic sensitivity on the campus.
Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following on the topic:
“It is extremely valuable for us to speak on the human tragedy happening in Gaza and see our students’ sensitivity on the issue. Turquoise ribbon is a strong sign of solidarity, hope, and resistance. The presentation of this ribbon by the Physician and Leadership Student Club is a sign that our university has adopted a sense of social responsibility. It is also a source of pride for us that our students participate in the blood donation campaign. We pray for our Palestinian brothers and sisters, hoping that this war ends as soon as possible. I would like to emphasize once again that we are here for them. It is also a source of pride and hope for us that our students act with such sensitivity and thank them for such a meaningful act.”
