The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, and the Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ), Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, signed a cooperation protocol aimed at conducting joint scientific studies and project activities.

At the beginning of the ceremony held at the ÇOMÜ Rectorate, both rectors emphasized the contributions the protocol would bring to both universities and highlighted the importance of acting jointly in scientific research. They stated that the planned projects, particularly in the fields of science, engineering, health, social sciences, and educational sciences, would not only enhance the academic capacities of the universities but also contribute to the country’s scientific productivity.

Within the scope of the protocol, which aims to develop and implement joint research projects between the two universities, the objectives include strengthening academic collaborations among faculty members, researchers, and students, producing joint publications and reports. The protocol foresees the regular reporting and auditing of research projects and the publication of their results by both universities, thereby sharing them with the scientific community. The protocol is expected to enable the more effective use of the scientific capacities of both universities, foster new synergies, and lay the groundwork for qualified projects.

Expressing his satisfaction with the cooperation protocol signed with ÇOMÜ, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated that inter-university cooperation between universities is one of the fundamental elements of scientific development, adding, “This protocol will provide opportunities for more efficient, innovative, and sustainable projects. The cooperation between universities will create new opportunities both for students and academic staff.”

The Rector of ÇOMÜ, Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, also underlined that the cooperation would make significant contributions to both universities, noting that joint projects, in line with Türkiye’s scientific and academic goals, would have valuable outcomes.
