Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has achieved another significant success in the international scientific community. Department Head of the Anesthesiology and Reanimation at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Hilal Aydoğdu represented BEUN and our country successfully in the global congress as part of her duties in the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA).
Active Role in the Global Science Platform
WFSA World Congress of Anesthesiologists, held in Marrakesh, Morocco between April 14-19, 2026, brought together many scientists across the world. Prof. Dr. Hilal Ayoğlu stood out with the presentations she gave, sessions she chaired, workshops and meetings she attended in this prestigious organization including 3705 attendees and 307 guest speakers from 132 countries. Ayoğlu’s role in the congress went beyond just attending an academic event and demonstrated Türkiye’s scientific knowledge on an international platform. She contributed to the congress especially with her problem-based training sessions and committee meetings.
BEUN Academics Continue to Take on Significant Responsibilities in the International Community
Prof. Dr. Ayoğlu, who has been in the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists as the Europe Regional Representative, transferred her duty at the end of the congress. However, her active role in the WFSA continues. Ayoğlu continues to contribute to the global health policies in her role as the chairperson of “Disaster Planning Working Group” and vice chairperson of “Safety&Quality Committee”.
