
A protocol signing ceremony was held for the "EMKO Yusuf Günay Mosque" the construction of which has been completed at Çaycuma Campus of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. The ceremony, hosted by the Zonguldak Governorship, was attended by Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Zonguldak Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, and Yusuf Günay representing EMKO Fenni Malzemeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret Inc.
Stating in his speech that the mosque added value to the university and the region, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu expressed his thanks to those who contributed to this service. Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu also said, “I hope this meaningful mosque will be beneficial for our university and city”.
Rector Özölçer: “This work is a valuable heritage that brings knowledge together with religious values”
In his remarks on the subject, the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that EMKO Yusuf Günay Mosque is more than a prayer place, it adds value to university life and added:
“Universities are extraordinary places which host cultural and spiritual values while being the center of knowledge, science, and academic development. Built on Çaycuma campus, EMKO Yusuf Günay Mosque is a valuable work that brings students, staff, and local citizens with knowledge, religious values, and knowledge. I would like to extend my gratitude to philanthropist businessman Yusuf Günay and EMKO family, who contributed to bringing this meaningful work to our university. I would also like to thank Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu for his valuable support and extend my thanks to Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, who has always been with us in this project. The philanthropy shown in the building of this exceptional work is a demonstration of social solidarity, harmony, and culture of dedication. I wholeheartedly believe that it will be a value that will serve the university, city and future generations for years to come.”
