Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University(BEUN) implemented an exemplary project that brings education and health services together under one roof. With its modern infrastructure, well-equipped units, and the mission to provide both education and health services, BEUN Education Family Health Center was inaugurated with an official ceremony.
Zonguldak Governor Osmanhacıbektaşoğlu, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer and his wife Seran Özölçer, Chief Physician of BEUN Hospital Prof. Dr. Burak Bahadır, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hande Aydemir, academic staff, healthcare personnel, and guests attended the opening ceremony held at İbni Sina Campus.
Education and Service at BEUN
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University BEUN Education Family Health Center plays a significant role in providing a primary healthcare service and in the education of family medicine residents. While practices supporting public health, such as vaccination, physical examinations, and pregnancy check-ups, are carried out, family medicine residents will have their hands-on training at the center.
There are 2 clinic rooms, 1 nursing room, 1 maternity room, 1 treatment room, and 1 meeting room at the center. The education coordinator of the center, a faculty member of the BEUN Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Semra Demir, stated that the center will have a significant role in public health services and training of the residents.

The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, stated the following on the Education Family Health Center opened under Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University:
“In a meeting held with Mr. Governor at the Zonguldak Governorship in 2024, a Family Medicine Service Agreement Protocol was signed, and it was determined to establish a Family Health Center for training under our university. The center we opened today will both provide a primary healthcare service and be an exemplary model for our students at the Faculty of Medicine and research assistants. At Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we not only provide academic knowledge on health, but also aim to use this knowledge for the benefit of the people. The Education Family Health Center will provide quality service to our people as a reflection of our vision and contribute to raising socially responsible individuals with practical field experience. With this in mind, I hope the center will be beneficial for our city, university, and country, and thank everyone who contributed to this project once again.”
