A New Chapter in Education Has Begun at the Microsurgery Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) realized a significant project by taking the education and practical opportunities in the field of health, a step further. The Microsurgery Laboratory (MicroLab) was inaugurated at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery at the BEUN Faculty of Medicine, with an opening ceremony.

The BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Zonguldak Director of Chamber of Medical Doctors, Prof. Dr. Eksal Kargı, BEUN Hospital Head Physician Prof. Dr. Burak Bahadır, TISK Microsurgery and Reconstruction Foundation Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Türker Özkan, and academic and administrative staff attended the opening ceremony held at İbni Sina Campus Faculty of Medicine.

Speaking in the opening ceremony, TISK MCV Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Türker Özkan stated the following:

"The eighth of the 20-unit-Microlab project will be opened in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine, with the support of TISK Microsurgery Foundation and scientific contributions of Emergency Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Association. I would like to extend my thanks particularly to our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, the leader of the project, the Director of TISK Microsurgery Foundation, Mr. Özgür Burak Akyol, and the administration, our dean, our chief physician, MicroLab-8 supervisor Prof. Dr. Eksal Kargı, and those who contributed to the project.”

Rector Özölçer: “We Raise Our Students with an Innovative Educational Approach That Enhances Practical Knowledge and Their Theoretical Knowledge”

The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, stated that this laboratory is a big gain for medical education in his speech at the ceremony and added:

“In the digital age we live in, where science is developing rapidly, the basis of the qualified health services is a strong education. Each step we take is a sign of our determination to strengthen the health infrastructure both for the region and our country. In this respect, our microsurgery laboratory will provide our students and young doctors with an opportunity in both the scientific and practical sense. I extend my thanks to TISK Microsurgery and Reconstruction Foundation, the President of the Foundation, Özgür Burak Akkol, Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Türker Özkan, and those who contributed, and hope the laboratory will be beneficial to our university and city. We will continue to work in line with our mission to raise qualified individuals who are strong in the theoretical and practical sense with an innovative and research-focused approach.”
