Rector Özölçer: “We prioritize qualified and high-impact publications”
In his remarks on the topic, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the results demonstrate the university’s quality-focused research vision and added:
“Being in the 19th place among state universities and reaching up to 57% in Q1 publication rate according to the 2025 Scopus analysis results reflects the quality-based approach of our university. We evaluate academic success in accordance with the impact levels, visibility, and contribution to the scientific world of the publications, not just through the number of publications.
The rates we achieved in the top 10%, 5%, and 1% demonstrate that we produce papers that are likely to be highly cited and our international academic competitive capacity increases every year. Our investments in the research infrastructure, applications that support the research culture, and dedicated work of our academics strengthen the scientific capacity of our university. In this respect, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, who supports us by promoting the research focused approach in higher education and YÖK community. Our goal is to produce research that contributes to the local development, add value on the national level, and gain prestige in the international field. I would like to wholeheartedly thank all academics who contributed to this success. We will continue with our principle that is focused on quality in scientific production and sustainability.”
