
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Muhammet Kasım Gönüllü, in his office.
During the visit held at the Ministry of Industry and Technology, BEUN Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Burak Bahadır, Provincial Director of Zonguldak Industry and Technology Metin Vural and Director of Zonguldak Technopark Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Kesikoğlu accompanied Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer.
Expressing his thanks to the Deputy Minister Gönüllü for his hospitality, Rector Özölçer informed Gönüllü on BEUN’s recent academic success on the national and international levels, scientific productivity performance, and quality focused institutional development process. Highlighting the projects aimed at enhancing the research and development capacity of the university, Özölçer talked about the steps taken in line with strengthening public-university-industry collaboration.
During the visit, current infrastructure initiatives taken at Zonguldak Technopark and its vision for the future were discussed. Views were exchanged on strengthening the structure of Technopark that contributes to the local development and increasing the number of R&D and innovation focused projects. Rector Özölçer shared detailed information on the initiatives planned to launch Zonguldak Entrepreneurship Office (GO) where they can implement the projects of students, academic and young entrepreneurs. It was emphasized that this unit, which supports the entrepreneurship atmosphere, will contribute to the innovative ideas of the youth.
Deputy Minister Muhammet Kasım Gönüllü expressed his gratitude to Rector Özölçer and his delegation for their kind visit. Highlighting that BEUN has achieved a significant position in higher education community with its academic performance, quality-focused studies, and internationalization vision, Gönüllü stated that especially Technopark and Entrepreneuship-oriented projects are significant in terms of local development.
Emphasizing that the initiatives taken by Rector Özölçer and future projects will strengthen the industry-university collaboration, Deputy Minister Gönüllü wished Rector Özölçer and all BEUN Family success in their endeavors.
