Organized by the Zonguldak Governorship, Zonguldak Municipality, Zonguldak Directorate of National Education and Terakki Neighborhood Mukhtar’s Office, the Award Ceremony of the 4th Zonguldak Through the Eyes of Children Painting Contest was held at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN).
Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem, Kilimli Mayor Kamil Altun, Deputy Provincial Police Chief Bülent Erdoğan, Vice Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu; Director of Provincial Youth and Sports, Halil Hacı; Director of the Workers’ Union, Veli Köktürk; city dignitaries, mukhtars, students, and parents attended the ceremony.
Following a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, the program continued with a concert by Miners’ Chorus. Professional groups accompanied the choir with a Zeybek performance from the Aegean region. Delivering the opening speech, Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem stated that children’s imagination provides the city with a new perspective and added that the support to the artistic activities will continue. Terakki Neighborhood Mukhtar Ferit Arslantürk took the stage and said that the contest that demonstrates the colors and values of Zonguldak would make social and cultural contributions to the city.
Following the speeches, the students were presented with their awards. Vice Rector of BEUN, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu presented the students who placed the third with their awards and congratulated them. Emphasizing that as BEUN, we are happy to host the 4th Zonguldak Through the Eyes of Children Painting Contest, Prof. Dr. Karasu thanked all the institutions who contributed to the organization of this event.
The award ceremony concluded with commemorative photos of award-winning students and their families.
