The 2025–2026 Academic Board Meeting of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) was held.
The meeting, held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences located on the Farabi Campus, was attended by the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer; the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ferda Çakmak; vice deans; and academic staff.
Academic and Administrative Activities of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Were Presented
During the meeting, Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ferda Çakmak delivered a general presentation on the activities carried out during the 2024–2025 Academic Year. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Çakmak provided detailed information on the activities planned for the 2025–2026 Academic Year, the new academic year plan, the numbers of academic and administrative staff and students, as well as the completed and ongoing scientific and social projects and academic studies at the faculty. He also shared information on the academic projects they aim to implement and the social, cultural, and community-oriented activities planned for students. Concluding his remarks, Prof. Dr. Çakmak expressed his gratitude to the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, for his continuous support for the development of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Rector Özölçer: “Our Faculty Stands Out with Both Its Academic Achievements and Social Projects”
Following the presentation by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ferda Çakmak, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, delivered a general evaluation of the 2024–2025 Academic Year. In his speech, Rector Özölçer wished the 2025–2026 Academic Year Spring Semester to be auspicious for the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University community and emphasized the importance of the qualified work to be carried out across all academic units of the university, particularly in the fields of economics and humanities, health sciences, engineering, and social sciences.
Emphasizing that the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences stands out not only with its academic achievements but also with the scientific projects, academic collaborations, and social contribution-oriented activities carried out in cooperation with public institutions, organizations, and relevant sectors, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that the faculty holds a significant position within the university in this respect. Noting that the projects of students who qualified for support within the scope of ÜNİDES represent a major achievement, Rector Özölçer added that the accreditation of the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations (Turkish) Undergraduate Program for three years by the Social and Humanities Accreditation and Rating Association (STAR) constitutes an important success certifying the faculty’s educational quality and academic strength. Rector Özölçer further underlined that the Economics (English) Program earning the right to use the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo and the support provided by TÜBİTAK to projects involving students from various departments within the faculty clearly demonstrate the faculty’s qualified education approach and student-centered academic perspective.
Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer emphasized that, in academic education, it is essential for FEAS students to be prepared for the future as productive, entrepreneurial, socially engaged individuals who are aware of their professional responsibilities, possess strong problem-solving skills, have robust academic competencies, and maintain strong social ties, while taking into account sectoral dynamics and the requirements of the contemporary world. He also highlighted the need to adopt innovative approaches by considering the importance of sustainable education. In addition, Rector Özölçer drew attention to the necessity of taking a more active role in national and international projects, increasing the number of qualified scientific publications, and strengthening academic cooperation. Pointing out the significance of the faculty’s development through its academic contributions and its role in supporting the city’s development process, Rector Özölçer thanked all academic and administrative staff who have contributed value to this progress.
The 2025–2026 Academic Board Meeting of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer to academicians who distinguished themselves with their scientific publications in national and international indexes, followed by the taking of a group commemorative photograph.
