Following the speeches of the directors, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:
“I commemorate the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on the 87th year of his passing with respect and gratitude before my speech. I am glad and proud to be here with you in the 2024-2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony. The wise quotation of Avicenna, the scientist and thinker from Buhara, “Science and art migrate from where they are not appreciated,” summarizes why we are here together today. We are representatives of an understanding that appreciates knowledge, effort, and success. The success of our graduates is the fruit of this understanding. Our university opened its doors with the name “Zonguldak School of Mining Engineering” 101 years ago. It pioneered the development of our country with its engineering education and left its mark on the future of the country. By widening our educational spectrum from education and art to sports and all other fields, we continue to raise individuals who will serve our country and humanity with due merit. We are proud to be able to provide the scientific world with individuals who are aware of this learning. I would like to extend my thanks to the families of the graduates and our professors who prepared our students for the future. I wholeheartedly congratulate our student and wish the continuation of their success.”
The certificate presentation ceremony was held following the speech of the Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer. The ceremony concluded with all graduates throwing their caps and taking a commemorative photo.
